Case Study: No It’s Us Too! Story Strategy

Challenge

To build awareness and pre-sales for a new book by Miranda Hart, creating engagement and ambassadorship from her fans.

Solution

We created and delivered a social media initiative where we designed and managed an official Twitter account and Tumblr blog for the publication and encouraged fans to follow in Miranda’s footsteps and submit their own embarrassing stories to @notitsustoo. The best stories were illustrated and published on the official Tumblr blog, accompanied by photos of Miranda holding up messages in response to fans’ stories. We also included the most hilarious stories in the free eBook, No It’s Us Too! which was made available to download via Amazon.

Results & ROI

2,914 stories submitted to @NoItsUsToo with hashtag #IsItJustMe generated a reach of 4.8 million.

The eBook, released in advance of Is It Just Me?, proved a huge hit with over 90,000 downloads, and was top of the free Kindle charts in the lead up to the book’s publication.

The book’s overall marketing campaign won the Book Marketing Society’s Best Marketing Campaign Award for Autumn 2012 in the Adults category, with our No It’s Us Too! activity being particularly highly commended.
